The Ockenden Maternity Review microsite is the central hub of information for the largest Independent Review in NHS history. The current website was built when Donna Ockenden started the latest review in to maternity care at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. We delivered a multilingual website to help communicate across the communities and faiths in Nottingham.

Donna Ockenden’s team initially came to us with the requirement for a new microsite for the Independent Review in to maternity services at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust. Having worked with Donna for a number of years, we came up with designs and a quick build time that enabled her to rapidly publish the latest news and updates during the review.
Throughout the review we kept the WordPress website updated for Donna and worked closely alongside the review team when due to COVID the initial report had to be released virtually. We worked with Donna, the team and Zoom to be able to provide a live streaming solution that the news outlets and families could access on the day. We were based on site during both the first report and the final report to ensure that everything ran smoothly and to be on hand for any last minute uploads or support that was required.
Donna has since gone on to chair the independent review of maternity services at the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust which gave us new challenges to work with. The team were keen to improve on the old website and wanted to support multiple languages so that all the families in the review could easily access the valuable content.
We created a refreshed design that kept the look and feel of the original website but with accessibility at its core. We utilised our knowledge of WPML to allow for multiple languages to be added to the site, enabling everyone access to every page.
Since launching we have added 8 languages and continue to support Donna and her team with content.
